What is proximity alert?
Proximity alerts are used to alert you when 2 tracking devices come or leave with a specified distance of each other.
How do I set a proximity alert?
In Proximity Panel, select the other device and distance you want to be notified when they come within or move outside of each other. Only devices you have access to will show up in the drop down list. You can setup multiple distance alerts for the same 2 devices.
How do I cancel a proximity alert?
Simply click the [Remove] button next to the proximity alert you want to remove and it will be cancelled. You will get a confirmation message to remove the alert.
When do I get alerted?
You will receive an alert each time the 2 devices move within or outside of each other. The system will use the last known report of each device when calculating the proximity. This is done when either device reports in.
How do I get alerted?
You will be alerted via email you used to sign up with. You will also be alerted via text message if you provided your cell phone information. To ensure you get the email alert, please make sure you put alert@coverttrack.com on your email safe sender’s list. Depending on your email provider, they may have filters that could treat this alert as spam. Text messages are sent via email through your phone. Please make sure you have not blocked email text messages on your phone. Most phone carriers allow email text messages by default.
I am not getting any email and/or text message proximity alerts?
Depending on your email provider, they may have filters that could treat the email alert as spam. First check to see if the email is in your junk or bulk email folder. Please make sure you put alert@coverttrack.com on your email safe sender’s list. Sometimes making alert@coverttrack.com as a contact can also help. If you are not receiving text messages please make sure you have not blocked email text messages on your phone. Most phone carriers allow email text messages by default. Check with your carrier for specific details.
